How to choose the length based on height

• Under 160 cm: prefer 40-45 cm. Long necklaces risk disproportionate figures. Chokers and princess lengths are your allies.
• 165-170 cm (Italian average): all lengths work. 45 cm is the most versatile.
• Over 170 cm: you can play with 50-60 cm lengths and layering necklaces of different sizes.

Men's necklaces: typical sizes

Men's necklaces are usually worn longer: 50-55 cm for a natural fall below the T-shirt collar, 60 cm for bolder chains to show off. Men's chains are often heavier and have thicker links: keep in mind that weight affects the drape.

How to measure the right necklace length at home

String or ribbon method

1. Take a piece of string, ribbon, or a measuring tape.
2. Wrap it around your neck exactly where you want the necklace to fall.
3. Mark or hold it with your fingers at the desired spot.
4. Lay the ribbon flat and measure it with a ruler: that is the length to choose.
5. If you are between two sizes, choose the longer one — it is easier to wear a slightly longer necklace than one that is too short.

Measure from a necklace you already own

Lay the necklace flat on a table and measure it from the clasp to the other end. If you like how that length falls, use the same number. If you want something longer or shorter, add or subtract the necessary centimeters.

Ring Size: How to Measure It

In Italy, ring size is expressed as the internal circumference in millimeters. A size 12 ring has an internal circumference of 52 mm. This system is different from the American (arbitrary numbers) and English (letters) systems.

String method (the simplest and most accurate)

1. Cut about 10-12 cm of thin string (or a narrow strip of paper).
2. Wrap it around the base of the finger to be measured — not too tight, not too loose. It should slide over the knuckle without difficulty.
3. Mark with a pen the point where the string overlaps.
4. Lay the string on a ruler and measure the length in mm: that is your circumference.
5. Find the value in the table below to find the corresponding Italian size.

The most common size for women in Italy is between 10 and 14 (circumference 50-54 mm). For men, between 20 and 26 (60-66 mm).

Method using an existing ring

If you already own a ring of the correct size: measure the internal diameter (the distance between the two inner walls) with a ruler. Find the value in the "internal diameter" column of the table. Alternatively, bring the ring to us in the store: we will measure it in 30 seconds with a caliper.

If your knuckle is significantly wider than the base of your finger, measure both points. Choose the knuckle size and consider open rings, spring-opening rings, or rings with an internal comfort fit that facilitates passage without leaving the jewelry too loose once worn.

Heat expands fingers, cold constricts them. For a reliable measurement, measure mid-day, at room temperature (not immediately after being out in the cold or after intense physical activity). Avoid measuring first thing in the morning: fingers tend to be slightly more swollen.

1. Wrap a measuring tape just below the wrist bone (the inner bump).
2. Note the measurement in cm.
